We are looking for an enthusiastic product engineer to steer new and existing projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in bringing original concepts to market and be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of the commercial requirements that are involved in doing so. As a design manager you will be responsible for providing solutions to practical problems for our wide range of products.
Responsibilities:
- Taking idea from the initial design stage through to production
- Drawing technical CADS for ideas and concepts
- Using mathematical and scientific skills to create workable, real world solutions to problems
- Sourcing specialist materials and components used in the construction of protective clothing & equipment
- Your work will involve visiting potential and existing suppliers
- Calculating accurate costs for each project
- Completing the required technical and regulatory testing required for certification
- Ensuring projects are completed on time with the specified budget
- Clear methodical record keeping of each project
Essential:
- Educated to degree level
- Be organised and work to set deadlines
- Target driven
- Knowledge of UK and European standards
Desired:
- Technical knowledge of fabrics and wearable garments
- Experience of testing and certifying products
- Managerial experience
Core Hours: Monday – Thursday 8.30am to 5pm, Friday 8.30am to 4pm
